Introduction :
Panaji Government Industrial Training Institute was established in the year 1974 under the aegis of Directorate of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt. of Goa earlier known as the State Directorate of Craftsmen Training with an objective of ensuring a steady flow of skilled personnel and to reduce unemployment amongst the educated youth by equipping them with required skills, education and discipline for suitable industrial employment as well as self-employment. The trades/ courses are affiliated to National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) through the Directorate General of Training (DGT), Government of India under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India, New Delhi. Also this institute is declared as Training Provider/ Training Centre under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojona (PMKVY).
