Introduction about the Organization:
The Goa State Horticultural Corporation is an Government of Goa undertaking with the main objectives to promote and undertake the cultivation of all types of horticultural and plantation crops. The Share Capital of Corporation is Rs. 500 lakhs and the Shareholders and Board of Directors are nominated by the Government of Goa.
Key functions/Objectives of the organization:
The Corporation supplies vegetables/fruits to Government Hospitals in Panaji, Bambolim, Mapusa, Margao etc and other Government Institution. The Corporation implements the Government scheme:
1.Government Intervention for Control of Price Rise Scheme
2.Assistance for Promotion of Vegetables with Assured Market
3.Supply of vegetables and fruits to Government Institution/Hospitals
4.Creation of Infrastructure for growing of vegetable and fruits/Assistance for cultivation of vegetables by Self Help Group
5.National Horticulture Mission
6.Coconut Pluckers/Plucking scheme; a service oriented coconut plucking scheme.
7.Hire of cold storage facility.
