Introduction :
The Department of Science and Technology and Waste Management, formerly known as Department of Science and Technology was established with the aim to popularize Science, promotion of Science & Technology (S&T) and Innovation projects relevant to the State. Department acts as the nodal agency between the Government of India and the State Government in matters relating to Science, Technology and Innovations. The Science & Technology “programmes / projects” are undertaken independently and with the support of line Departments, NGOs, Researchers, Local Bodies, and Educational Institutions etc. Department is also mandated with the management and disposal of solid waste and other wastes generated in the State of Goa in safe and scientific manner through advanced technology. This mandate is achieved through Goa Waste Management Corporation.
