The Department of Industries in Secretariat, Porvorim comprises of the Secretary (Industries) as its Administrative Head and the other officials in the Department are Under Secretary (Industries), Section Officer and subordinate staff.
The functions and duties of the Department have been institutionalized through three (03) bodies / agencies apart from DITC. These are under administrative control of the Department.
Directorate of Industries, Trade & Commerce (DITC), Panaji is concerned with the promotion, development, and regulation of Industries within the State of Goa. It is also responsible for implementing government policies for the all-round development of industries in the State. DITC is involved with policy framing, planning, administrative framework, putting in place guidelines, and implementation of both State and Central sponsored schemes. DITC provides aid, mentoring, and various support systems to entrepreneurs.
(i) Goa Industrial Development Corporation, Panaji:-. A Corporation established under the Act of Legislative Assembly of Goa, namely Goa Industrial Development Act, 1965 for securing and assisting in the rapid and orderly establishment and organization of Industries Areas and Industrial Estates in Goa.
(ii) Khadi and Village Industries Board, Panaji. A Board established under Goa Khadi and Village Industries Board Act, 1965 and Rules 196 7 to generate active interest in the Production and development of Khadi and in the development of Village Industries.
(iii) Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation Board:- The Goa Investment Promotion and facilitation Board was constituted under Section 3 of the Goa Investment Promotion Act,2014 (Goa Act 13 of 2014) so as to introduce a mechanism with the prime objective of promoting and facilitating the investment in the State of Goa, Industries Department Secretariat, is Nodal Department for Goa-IPB.

(d)To make available infrastructure which is reliable.
(e)To make Government structure transparent, seamless and proactive.
